Seatbelt Sales was founded in 1988 by Doug Pflaum and has been family-owned and locally operated ever since. What started as a specialist seatbelt supply business has grown over four decades into one of New Zealand's most respected safety product companies, with expertise spanning automotive, commercial and industrial applications.
We operate from our base at 200 Antigua Street in Christchurch, NZ, and we ship throughout New Zealand. Our team brings more than 100 years of combined industry knowledge to the industry, and we take genuine pride in providing advice you can rely on.
As the exclusive distributor for Autosafe Ltd, we are uniquely positioned to offer re-webbing services that no other business in New Zealand can match. We also hold an "S" Mark manufacturing licence, meaning our own products are independently certified to meet New Zealand's seatbelt safety standards.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can my damaged seatbelt be repaired?
In most cases, yes. If the webbing is frayed, faded, worn or retracts incorrectly, re-webbing through our NZTA-approved Autosafe service can restore it to original factory strength. We assess each seatbelt individually and will let you know whether re-webbing is the right solution or whether a full replacement is more appropriate.
What type of seatbelt do I need for my vehicle?
This depends on the make, model and year of your vehicle, as well as the seating position. Older vehicles may be suited to aftermarket static or ELR belts, while newer vehicles with pretensioners or load limiters often require original equipment (OE) replacements. Our team can help you identify the correct belt for your application.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. We ship seatbelts and accessories to customers throughout New Zealand. For re-webbing services, customers send their seatbelt to us along with the seating position and vehicle registration, and we return it with new webbing, certified and ready to fit.
Are your seatbelts NZ-certified?
Yes. All seatbelts we supply and manufacture are certified to AS/NZS 2596:2003, New Zealand's seatbelt safety standard. Our "S" Mark licence from Bureau Veritas provides independent verification of this certification.
How long does re-webbing take?
Turnaround time for re-webbing is typically within 24 hours once we receive your seatbelt. If it is likely to take longer we will confirm the expected timeframe when you send your belt in. For urgent requirements, contact us directly on 0508 58 00 00.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes. We offer discounts to the Trade and to Gold Card holders (New Zealand senior citizens). For pricing on any product or service, contact us for a free quote.
